Biography

Matteo Paoletti Franzato was born near Venice in 1989.

He attended the Art High School and in 2011 he graduated Cum Laude at the “Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia” specialising in Scenography/Stagecraft. The following year he worked for Antonia Sautter creations & events as a decorator and creative sketch artist.
In 2013 he collaborated as prop maker for Polittico srl on the movie “Seconda primavera” by Francesco Calogero. In 2014 he attended a “Master in Scenography” for Opera in Verona, during which he participated in several national and international productions.

Since 2015 he has been working with the director Marco Bellussi, signing the scenes of several operas both prose and opera, in Italy and abroad, with particular attention to the Baroque repertoire.

In 2017 he curated the staging of the musical piece “Zefiro Torna” at the Mittelfest Festival in Cividale del Friuli under the direction of Gianluca Capuano.
In the same year he created sets and costumes for a new opera by Maestro Giovanni Mancuso “Atlas 101” at the Mario Del Monaco Theatre in Treviso

In 2018 he ranked second at the 10th edition of the European Opera Directin Prize with the project in competition: “Manon Lescaut” by G. Puccini directed by Neil Barry Moss.

Since 2021 he has been collaborating with the European Cultural Center – Italy for the installations of the Biennali D’Arte e di Architettura in Venice

He also takes care of the scenes of television commercials and fashion shows, taking care of the artistic direction of the Alberta Ferretti fashion show at Ca’ Rezzonico in Venice in 2021.
